Painful Forfeit

I had a stupid agreement with one of my mates on some trivial football matter recently when we were out and had had a few too many beers. The loser, and it was witnessed, had to run the London marathon as a forfeit, which was due up in 3 months from that day. As it turned out I was wrong, lost the bet and receiving no sympathy from my friend it turns out that I have got to indeed run the London marathon. I have never run a marathon before, or a half marathon, in fact I have done very little running since I finished school 25 years ago! I am now frantically trying to get in shape by visiting the gym three times a week, going jogging every night and have even called in a favour from a dietitian who is going to help me lose 10 lbs a week for a month in order to give me all the help I can get before the big event!

There is always one in the neighbourhood, the tom cat that likes to throw his weight about and bully our poor unsuspecting cats. Unfortunately, not all of us have a cat that’s happy to stand up to such torment which may cause them a lot of stress to the point that they will be afraid of going out of the house.

The Best Trip Of My Life

My husband took me on a trip to New York City because it was the one place I have always said I have wanted to go but haven’t been to. He told me to just relax and have fun! We stayed in an amazing Hotel in New York City. It had a wonderful view of the City and was just breath taking at night. We had a pretty large balcony that offered a great way to relax at night! We stayed a week there and it went by way to fast! The best part of it all was just spending time with my husband. We walked around Central Park and ate lunch at some of the most amazing cafes. New York City has to have the best Pizza I have ever had! The best part was the shopping of course. I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to just get away with their loved one and have fun!

Getting Over My “test” Ex Girlfriend

It was my first real girlfriend. Well, in the sense that I thought she was girlfriend. She didn’t have a job, she was still living at home, and when I look back at it I try to think as positive as possible (other than saying to myself, what was I thinking). As I like to look at it, she was my “test” girlfriend.

When I got invited to my best friend’s graduation party, I was determined to go and have a good time. I had a drink to losen up, but thankfully I wasn’t into the frat party kind of drinking a lot of other people were.

There I met, “Damian”. She was standing in the corner smoking a cigarette. She looked rebellious in that sexy kind of way. I asked my friends if they knew who she was and they had no clue. Today, references should be mandatory.

We had gravitated towards each other during the night and instantly I wanted to get to know her better. I should have listened to my instincts, you know the fight or flight kind of thing? Well, if I know now what I knew then, flight would have been a good choice.

I wanted to give her a chance, but always standing me up on dates only to make up excuses I wondered why she would even bother if she wasn’t interested. I tried to believe the sweet nothings she would tell me over the phone, but when I found out that she was meeting up with my best friend for coffee and more, my heart sank. She then went from “test” girlfriend to my ex girlfriend. Technically she wasn’t an ex, even though it was still hard getting over her.

Two relationships ended that day. How did I get over my ex girlfriend? Time and retrospect. It was the best decision made. She’s waitress at a diner now and she’s really not that better off.

Remember the Milk, the popular iPhone to-do list will now be getting a free version. I had been using the paid subscription version on my iPhone that I got for free from freebiejeebies for some time but the new free version may make me reconsider.

Whenever an developer creates a free version of an app, it tends to be starved of features and missing something vital from it’s paid version. Remember the Milk’s free option limits you to only being able to sync once every 24 hours, this would cause problems to anyone using multiple platforms to keep themselves organised. The other limitation to the free version is that the app will not use push notifications, making the application far less useful to those people who use an organising to remind them when something is about to happen, not just what is going to happen that day.

If anything, this news has made me reconsider my use of Remember the Milk, there are probably free alternative out there now that have all these features for free.
