Most people who have sold their house will tell you that you tend to put more work into it than you have in years to get it ready. That’s because there’s a huge benefit when the potential buyers see it looking its best. You want them to get that feeling that they’re ready to put down a payment right away, by making it look inviting, cozy, and new.
So Linda and I have been taking care of this kind of thing on the house we’re selling. I just replaced a few doorknobs, cleaned the place, painted it, and now we’re putting in marble tiling. These kind of things don’t cost much but if they create more appeal you’re going to want to do it. Right now the home we’re selling looks amazing, and if that turns into a quick sale then it just proves the point. I’m sure it will too, since we almost want to stay moved in now.
